Over the past 20 years, Tippin's Restaurant in Tulsa enjoyed a healthy business. Then the home office went bankrupt.
The restaurant is still open, but a lot of people don't know it. Tippin's manager Richard White says the company's bankruptcy didn't hurt his restaurant as bad as the "news" of the bankruptcy.
White says the restaurant is right in the middle of what's become an economic desert at 71st and Memorial. Here, business has been drying up the past couple of years. “Actually over the weekend, we had 3 or 4 people when they came in, they came up to buy a pie, and they made mention to my cashiers that we thought you all had closed down."
Tippin's hopes they can avoid the area's trend. And reclaim their piece of the economic pie.
