(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Florida company will build, own and operate a 51-megawatt wind farm in northwest Oklahoma.

FPL Energy will build the farm on 1,200 acres along the Harper-Woodward county line.

The electricity generated by the farm will be sold to the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority, which provides electricity to 35 municipal electric systems in the state.

FPL of Juno Beach, Florida, is to begin construction on the farm this spring and the plant is expected to be in operation by the end of the year.
