A young Sand Springs boy is recovering in an Oklahoma City hospital after a kidney transplant.
But it took another Oklahoma family's tragedy to give Dylan Holmes this gift of life. 14-year old Mandy Westermier died Thursday night from the injuries she suffered in a rodeo accident last weekend. On Friday, Mandy's classmates in Luther, raised money with a cookout. They wanted to help her family with their medical bills.
Dylan was born with a bad kidney and had been going back and forth to Oklahoma City for dialysis. His body has already rejected one kidney that his father gave him.
