(Kansas City, Missouri-AP) -- 4th-seeded Oklahoma State beat Number 2 seed Texas A&M 4-1 to win the Big 12 Conference women's tennis tournament.

Oklahoma State won the doubles point and three of four singles matches at Kansas City's Plaza Tennis Center Sunday.

Oklahoma State improved to 17-6 overall while Texas A&M dropped to 19-10, in solid standing for a possible at-large berth in NCAA selections.

The Oklahoma State women became the first team other than Texas to win a Big 12 women's tourney. The Longhorns had swept the 1997-2002 postseason crowns.

Oklahoma State also received priority for NCAA tournament selection for the second time in three years and 13th time since 1982.
