(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Luther teenager who was injured following a barrel racing event at a rodeo in Harrah last Saturday, has died.

Amanda Jo Westermier died about 11:30 Thursday night at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

The 14-year-old Westermier was a freshman at Wellston High School.

She had just run the best barrel racing time of her life - 16.28-seconds and was leaving the arena when an accident caused her horse to roll over on her.

A spokesman at the state Medical Examiner's office says the cause of death has not been determined.
