An Oklahoma Marine is among the soldiers injured during combat in Iraq. At their home in Dewey, Mark and Connie Combs learned what happened to their son. It's one phone call they'll never forget.

Corporal Mark Combs has shrapnel wounds to his legs, feet and hips. He was hurt during intense fighting in Nasiriyah. After their initial shock, Mark's family is simply relieved he survived. Connie Combs, stepmother of Marine, “I think the first thing that went through my mind was the Lord answered our prayers. That he is bringing him home alive."

Mark Combs Sr, father of Marine, "Your heart chokes up, swells in your chest. There are really no words to describe it.”

Mark and other marines were honored during a weekend rally. Now his community and his family wait for him to come home.

At last word, Mark was being treated in Spain and is expected to be transferred to a hospital in Germany.
