Dire Straits lead singer Mark Knopfler is on the mend this morning.

He broke six ribs and a collarbone in a recent motorcycle accident in London.

Police say he was knocked off his motorcycle when he ran into a car. The driver of the car was not injured.

Knopfler was scheduled to appear with legendary singer Eric Clapton for a Cancer benefit concert next week.
