A war overseas makes us more vulnerable here in the U.S. The government has made two moves to help protect the home land.

1. Operation Liberty Shield has been initiated.

There are added patrols at borders, the Coast Guard is escorting more ships and airports are adding security.

2. The nation's security level is now at an "orange" or a high level of alert.

Homeland security leaders suggest families make a survival kit including a gallon of water for each person, for three days, enough food for three days that doesn't need to be refrigerated or cooked, a flashlight, and first aid kit.

Security experts believe Oklahoma would be a low priority target to terrorists.

Ron Palmer, Palmer Security Consulting: "Where we're at, what we have around, the chances are limitied. But, I was in Houston last week with all their oil tankers and they are in fear and rightfully so."

Palmer points out that this survival kit would be similar to one with items you would need if a tornado knocked out electricity for a few days.
