(Indianapolis-AP) -- The former leader of the Oklahoma Senate is warning Indiana lawmakers to be wary of legislation pushed by SBC Communications.
San Antonio-based SBC says the proposal will help protect jobs.
But Oklahoma Senator Stratton Taylor raised concerns in a February 20th letter to Indiana lawmakers.
Taylor says SBC decided to move jobs out of Oklahoma just months after a bill to deregulate broadband services passed the Oklahoma Legislature.
The letter was circulated to Indiana Statehouse reporters by opponents of similar legislation in Indiana.
In response SBC pointed to a letter by another Oklahoma lawmaker _ Senator Jim Dunlap.
Dunlap is telling Indiana legislators the new law in Oklahoma benefits consumers and encourages business growth.
