(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma senior guard Hollis Price is The Associated Press Big 12 Player of the Year.
Oklahoma State's Tony Allen is the newcomer of the year and Texas A&M's Antoine Wright is the freshman of the year.
Price received eleven votes in the balloting by writers who regularly cover the Big 12. Kansas forward Nick Collison was second with eight votes and Texas guard TJ Ford received three.
Price was second in the league in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game. His toughness and leadership is credited with driving the Sooners, who finished third in the conference race.
Allen helped the Cowboys to a 4th place finish in the conference race. The junior college transfer averaged more than 14.5 points per game.
Wright is the unanimous choice as freshman of the year.
