(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Lawsuits have been filed against four companies accused of violating Oklahoma's new Don't Call telemarketing act.
The lawsuits allege that the companies contacted Oklahoma consumers who have registered their telephone numbers with Oklahoma's Telemarketer Restriction Act.
Attorney General Drew Edmondson says the lawsuits seek permanent injunctions against the companies from soliciting consumers who have signed up for the Don't Call program.
He also requested fines of 10-thousand dollars per violation plus attorney fees and investigative costs.
The lawsuits were filed against Windows Only Incorporated of Oklahoma City; Nextel West Corporation of Reston, Virginia; Dish-Direct Incorporated of Carrolton, Texas; and Echostar Communications Corporation of Bluefield West Virginia.
