A Rogers County man is hospitalized after he opened fire on a sheriff's deputy, and the deputy shot back. It happened around three o'clock Saturday afternoon in Claremore.
The deputy was serving papers at a home nearby, when he saw the suspect speed around a corner; he had reportedly slammed into a light pole. The deputy chased him through a residential neighborhood until the suspect slammed his truck into a tree.
When the suspect got out, he pointed a gun and started firing. The deputy returned fire and hit him in the leg. The suspect's injuries are not life threatening.
Police say drugs may have been involved. He faces several charges.
