(Goldsby-AP) -- A bioterrorism test that would involve releasing powdered egg whites over central Oklahoma is being delayed because residents are worried about allergies.

A crop-duster was scheduled to start releasing chicken egg whites, clay dust, grain alcohol and a sterilized pesticide into the sky Monday.

Officials from the Army and the Environmental Protection Agency are postponing the test to research whether the egg whites could harm residents with food allergies.

Army and E-P-A officials will contact health professionals to discuss the risks of using powdered eggs.

A similar test was done over the Florida Keys with no detrimental effects.

The test is planned to see if weather radar can detect biological and chemical particles in the sky.
