DALLAS (AP) _ Tulsa rallied from five points down with 4:32 remaining to defeat SMU 77-70 Wednesday night behind Dante Swanson's 25 points.

Trailing 65-60, the Golden Hurricane (15-8, 8-6 Western Athletic) closed with a 17-5 run, taking the lead for good on Swanson's 3-pointer at 0:43.

SMU (12-12, 7-7) cut Tulsa's lead to 71-70 on Patrick Simpson's two free throws with 28 seconds left in the game, but Swanson made six straight free throws to seal the victory.

Tulsa also closed the first half strong. SMU was up 31-25 with under three minutes to play in the first half, but the Golden Hurricane finished with an 8-0 run for a 33-31 halftime lead.

Swanson was 7-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Jason Parker added 17 points and eight assists for the Golden Hurricane.

Simpson led SMU with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Quinton Ross added 14 points and nine rebounds, and Eric Castro had six points and 13 rebounds.

Although Tulsa made all 12 of its free throws, SMU was 14-of-22. But the Golden Hurricane was 26-of-58 from the field, including 13 outside the 3-point arc while SMU was 24-of-62, with only eight 3-pointers.
