(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa senior guard Antonio Reed has been dismissed from the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa coach John Phillips says Reed was dismissed because he violated team policy.

University officials declined further comment on the dismissal, which comes as Tulsa faces Rice Saturday after three-straight Western Athletic Conference losses.

Reed, who ranks sixth on the university's all-time assist charts at 319 and ninth on the career steals list at 136, had been hampered by an ankle sprain earlier in the season.
