A group of University of Arkansas students have some pretty big bragging rights in the world of archaeology.

They dug up the world's largest fossil of a squid-like creature in Fayetteville earlier this week. The calcite shell is a record 9-feet long and nearly 325-million years old. They chiseled away the rock for 24 hours before they recognized the value of their find.

The fossil will eventually be moved to the University of Arkansas Museum for people to see.
