MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) _ Rainer Schuettler had too much energy for a tired and bruised Andy Roddick.

Schuettler beat Roddick 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Friday in the Australian Open to advance to the final against three-time champion Andre Agassi.

Schuettler, the German seeded 31st, finished off the American in 2 hours, 19 minutes, ending the match with backhand winner down the line for a service break.

Roddick outlasted Morocco's Younes El Aynaoui 21-19 on Wednesday in the longest fifth set in Grand Slam tennis to advance to the semifinals. The American consulted a tournament doctor about a wrist problem before the match and struggled throughout.

Earlier, Serena and Venus Williams teamed to win their sixth Grand Slam doubles final, an ideal tuneup for their fourth consecutive clash in a major singles final.

The top-seeded Williams sisters won their second Australian Open doubles title with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over second-seeded Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain and Paola Suarez of Argentina.
