This year's Chili Bowl is over and organizers are describing it as a smashing success.

Expo Square officials are still waiting on final figures, but they estimate attendance for the event was around 45,000 people.

60% of chili bowl tickets were sold to people out-of-state. Food and beverage sales totaled approximately $300,000.

In terms of revenue for Expo Square, the Chili Bowl is second only to the boat show.
