The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is beefing up its bomb squad. Tuesday, OHP added a new bomb truck to its fleet, the second of its kind. That puts one in Oklahoma City and one in Tulsa.

The OHP bomb squad responds to call outs in any city that doesn't have its own bomb squad. OHP Captain Kerry Pettingill, "It has allowed us to shorten our response time. Before this we go, load equipment and only take what was necessary and we got in the southwest part of the state and got another call. We'd just have to hope we had the equipment to go to the next call.”

The truck comes complete with a robot, a portable X-ray machine and hazardous materials equipment, and costs a half a million dollars.
