Spring time in Oklahoma lived up to its reputation. The first spring storm of the season rolled through the state last night.

The storms brought lots of lightning and heavy rains. Minor street flooding was reported in Kiefer. Not too many people were out after the storm passed, but motorists were taking it slow through the flooded streets.

It wasn't water, but ice that made travel slow near Henryetta. The hail was so thick it blanketed the roads. The icy pellets were a stark contrast to the black sky and dark asphalt - making it look more like winter than spring.

It was much the same in Claremore. Dime to nickel sized hail fell in parts of Rogers County.
The hail covered quite a lot of ground.

Our storm warn crews caught a glimpse of a wall cloud forming near Pierce, Oklahoma as well. Fortunately no tornado was ever sighted and no damage was reported. But it's an eerie reminder severe weather season has begun.
