Tulsa University's football team will start spring practices today.
Forty-four lettermen -- including eight starters on offense and defense -- will be returning.
Quarterbacks Tyler Gooch and James Kilian return with top-rated junior college receiver Romby Bryant.
On defense, tackle Sam Rayburn, linebacker Michael Dulaney and rover Keithan McCory will be back as seniors.
Tulsa Coach Keith Burns says the team needs to improve much of its offense.
Burns says eliminating the big play, improving run defense and creating turnovers will be the focus of the defense.
The practices will lead up to the annual spring game on Saturday, April 13th at Skelly Stadium.
