Tulsa football coach Keith Burns has hired a tight ends coach and a defensive secondary coach.

Matt Wells has spent the past five seasons coaching at Navy. Wells will coach tight ends for the Golden Hurricane. Wells is a native of Sallisaw. He played quarterback at Utah State.

Steve Hayes had been a graduate assistant at Tulsa but will now coach the secondary.

He's been on the Tulsa staff three years as a defensive assistant.

Before that, he coached at Concordia University in Nebraska and Bethany College in Kansas.
