March showers mark the beginning of spring, but these storms have soaked Oklahoma - and left behind a flood of problems for some people.

Hardest hit are counties in Southeastern Oklahoma - like Pittsburg County. Since Monday, constant rainfall has pounded the McAlester area. As much as six inches of rain has fallen in some places.

Officials have had to shut down State Highway 31 and State Highway 63 because of high water. It's just as bad for motorists on some rural roads. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is stressing safety during this dangerous time on the roads.

Randy Rogers, Oklahoma Highway Patrol: "We've had a lot of cars in the past two days that have been driving too fast and hydroplaned. We've had a major accident on the Indian Nation Turnpike."

Authorities in LeFlore County had to make a river rescue. And in Choctaw county, six feet of water was reported around a bridge that's been damaged.
