There are some changes in store for Tulsa Mayor's annual Job Program.
For years the program has offered summer job counseling services to young people. This year they announced plans to expand the program to include an adult job fair. This will address the needs of those who have lost their jobs in the wake of the September 11th attacks. They will also make referrals available all year round.
Over the years, the program's main goal has been to help young people find summer jobs, that may hopefully turn into a career. Jamal West with UPS, “This program means a lot to me because it actually has put me where I am today."
Some of the employers who will be hiring include Tulsa Zoo Friends, Albertson's, City of Tulsa, and more.
