OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Gov. Frank Keating has appointed Public Safety Commissioner Bob Ricks to serve as temporary director of the interim office of homeland security.
Keating signed Senate Joint Resolution 42, providing for the post in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
``Commissioner Ricks will work closely with local, county and state law enforcement agencies in addition to the U.S. Homeland Security office in order to ensure that Oklahoma is prepared for any type of terrorist threat,'' Keating said Thursday.
