OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Parts of central and northeastern Oklahoma are reporting an outbreak of influenza, state health officials said.

Health care workers have seen a steady increase of the flu in the last month, said Dr. Kristy Bradley, assistant state epidemiologist.

Oklahoma, Garfield and Pontotoc counties, as well as all counties in northeastern Oklahoma, are reporting the outbreaks.

Influenza types A and B are being reported by local health departments, clinics and private physicians, Bradley said.

Medical officials expect the number of Oklahoma influenza cases to increase in March as flu season continues.

``We have a wave of influenza A right now, and we expect a wave of influenza B later this month and into March and April,'' said Ada pediatrician Tawfik Ramadan.

It isn't too late to be immunized against influenza, officials said.
