A recent rash of burglaries has sent one African American community into action.
In the past 2 months, 6 predominant Black churches in the Muskogee area have been vandalized and burglarized. Investigators believe 4 break-ins are related. The thieves have stolen thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment. And no one has been arrested.
The local NAACP chapter called an emergency meeting Monday night. They want Muskogee Police to step up the search for a suspect. Rev AH Jones with the Old Agency Baptist Church, "It's not getting the publicity, it's not getting the attention, and as a matter of fact, information given to Police have not been acted upon."
If you have any information on the church burglaries, call the Muskogee Crimestoppers at 683-COPS. You can remain anonymous.
