As Williams Communications' stock continued to struggle, company officials were reassuring employees in Tulsa.
Workers arrived at the Brady Theater Tuesday morning, many by bus. We’re told CEO Howard Janzen reassured employees that the company's restructuring plans do not include bankruptcy. Janzen also reportedly said Williams is not in default, despite what some banks have said.
The company's stock plummeted to 55 cents during trading Tuesday before rallying to close at an all-time low of 85 cents.
Also Tuesday, Williams announced a deal to provide the long distance service for the Verizon phone company.
