Breast cancer research got a big boost in Tulsa Tuesday. The local Susan G-Komen Foundation met at OSU Tulsa where they selected six non-profit organizations to receive grants totaling more than $200,000.

That money will be used to research, and hopefully destroy, breast cancer. Still the best weapon we have right now is prevention. Kathy Harper with the Susan G Komen Foundation, “Until we can find a true cure for breast cancer, the most important we have is awareness and early detection. Getting men and women in to do their mammograms, and catching the cancer early is really the best way now for people to battle this disease.”

75% of that $200,000 raised will stay here in Tulsa.
