(Muskogee-AP) -- The fate of suspended Bacone College President Norman Madsen remains unclear.

The school's board of trustees met Friday, but no one would say whether Madsen had been fired or retained at the private college.

Madsen was suspended in November by the school's executive committee. He has expressed concerns the school may have violated financial aid guidelines.

State authorities are taking a look at Bacone College because of Madsen's comments.

Interim President Owen Halleen says the school is not in violation of any guidelines.

Halleen and chief operating officer Mike Leonard indicated at Friday's meeting they will remain on their jobs for the foreseeable future.

During Madsen's tenure, Bacone's enrollment rose almost 300% to 1,100 students.
