WASHINGTON (AP) _ Companies in Florida and Connecticut are recalling imported Brazilian canned corned beef because it contains inedible beef byproducts that are not declared on the label.
No reports of injury or sickness have been received by either Transmundo Inc., based in Miami, nor Tupman Thurlow Co., of Simsbury, Conn., the Agriculture Department said Friday.
The government said the recall is for an undetermined amount of beef.
Recalled products include these label markings:
_12-ounce cans of ``Celebrity CORNED BEEF with Juices PRODUCT OF BRAZIL.'' The cans bear identification codes J281 M1 or J301 M1.
_12-ounce cans of ``Dely CORNED BEEF WITH JUICES PRODUCT OF BRAZIL.'' The top of each can is labeled with one of the following identification codes: J281M, K031M, K041M, K181M, K211A, K291M or O011M.
_12-ounce cans of ``Jamaica Country Style Brand CORNED BEEF with juices PRODUCT OF BRAZIL.'' The top of each can is labeled with one of the following identification codes: O041M, O051M, O171MA, O181M, O191A or O201M.
_12-ounce cans of ``GRANDE CORNED BEEF PRODUCTO DE BRASIL.'' The top of each can is labeled with one of the following identification codes: J311M, K031M, K201M, K281M, P191M and K201A.
