(McAlester-AP) -- A McAlester restaurant owner was shot and killed by police early Friday morning following a stand-off.
Assistant Police Chief George Scott says Jaimes Ceferino was killed about 3 in the morning at the front door of Jaimes' Mexican Restaurant when he aimed a revolver at officers.
Scott says Ceferino cursed and yelled at the officers from inside the restaurant during the stand-off and was seen with a beer in one hand and the revolver in the other.
Scott says officers were investigating reports of gunshots about 11 Thursday night when they found the door of the restaurant open and Ceferino inside. He says Ceferino then fired at the officers but missed.
Scott says Ceferino has a record of driving while intoxicated and was due in court for a sentencing hearing on a driving under the influence offense.
