CHELSEA, Okla. (AP) _ A van careened off a highway and flipped, killing three people and critically injuring a fourth, authorities said.
Sue Ann Emarthle, 46; her son, Jerome Leon Emarthle, 25, both of Tulsa; and Sonny Wayne Thorne, 20, of Chelsea died in the crash about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Stephen Paul Mann, 26, of Roff was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital with internal injuries.
They were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle, troopers said.
Sue Ann Emarthle was driving the van when it went off the right side of Oklahoma 28 south of Chelsea in Rogers County, the patrol said.
The van hit a culvert and overturned twice.
