NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Country singer LeAnn Rimes is engaged to dancer Dean Sheremet, according to an announcement posted on her Web site.

No wedding date is listed.

Rimes, 19, was showing off her engagement ring last week at Elton John's AIDS benefit in Los Angeles, where she resides.

Phone calls Monday to her Nashville-based record company, Curb Records, were not immediately returned.

Rimes, from Garland, Texas, won her first talent contest at age 5. She was 13 when the hit ``Blue'' made her a star and a Grammy Award winner. Her other hits include ``Commitment,'' ``How Do I Live,'' ``I Need You'' and ``Big Deal.''
