It's history in the making, right here in Tulsa. Meet the 'Freedom Girls.' They held the first modern day war bond drive Monday in South Tulsa at 101st and Sheridan.

The 'Freedom Girls' represent three generations of American patriotism. They are holding war bond drives to encourage local residents to support the US government by buying Patriot Bonds. One of the Freedom Girls, Susan Dale, "Not only do we need to save, that's what the patriot bond is a US savings bond, but we also need to promote and shop with local merchants because a good economy is a healthy economy."

This was the first bond drive held by the 'Freedom Girls.' They hope to get more people involved and hold more drives in the future.
