COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) _ Gregg Popovich of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, Mike Montgomery of Stanford and Kelvin Sampson of Oklahoma were selected Thursday as assistant coaches for USA Basketball's 2002 team at the FIBA World Championships.

Milwaukee Bucks coach George Karl will serve as head coach for the team which includes Ray Allen of Milwaukee, Jason Kidd of New Jersey, Reggie Miller and Jermaine O'Neal of Indiana, Antonio Davis of Toronto, Michael Finley of Dallas and Shawn Marion of Phoenix.

The tournament is set for Aug. 29 through Sept. 8 at Indianapolis.
