STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Clinton beat Sallisaw 41-23 Saturday to claim its fourth Class 4A state championship in six years.
Sallisaw, which lost 41-6 to Clinton in last year's title game, jumped to a 16-0 lead.
Joseph Hogan hit Martin Morris for a 49-yard TD pass and tight end Derek Fine for a 35-yard score in the first quarter.
Clinton (13-0) scored the next 41 points.
The Red Tornadoes pulled within 16-13 by halftime, and took the lead for good with 1:24 left in the third quarter on Michael Gresham's 10-yard touchdown run.
Gresham carried 41 times for 305 yards and five touchdowns on runs of 3, 10, 17, 69 and 1 yards. He had 225 yards rushing in the second half.
Hogan completed 9 of 23 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions for Sallisaw (13-1).
Clinton picked up its second straight crown and the 11th in school history. The Red Tornadoes extended their winning streak to 26 games.
