(Dulles-AP) -- Sprint and America Online have announced a new deal that will offer AOL members long-distance telephone service.

Members who sign up for a plan, marketed as ``AOL Long Distance provided by Sprint,'' can earn credit good toward their online service. AOL members in the continental United States will have the opportunity to sign up for the long-distance plans.

Under the multi-year, multi-(m)-million dollar agreement, Sprint will be the exclusive provider for AOL-branded long distance.

AOL will heavily promote Kansas City-based Sprint's long-distance plans.
