TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Tulsa quarterback Josh Blankenship said he will transfer to another university for his final year of eligibility.
The junior, rising this season to fourth on Tulsa's all-time passing list with 5,273 yards, said he has not decided yet where he will play out his college career.
``I got my release from the athletic department and I'm just kind of looking to make a transfer,'' Blankenship said after Tulsa's 19-7 loss Saturday to Louisiana Tech.
The loss culminated the Hurricane's worst season in 32 years. Tulsa finished 1-10 and was winless in Western Athletic Conference play.
Speculation about a transfer persisted for weeks after Blankenship was benched behind freshman Tyler Gooch before a loss to New Mexico State on Oct. 6.
Blankenship played Saturday, completing 10 of 25 passes for 110 yards. He threw one interception.
