(Oklahoma City-AP) -- State Senator Kelly Haney will join the race for governor.

Haney says he'll announce his candidacy on Friday at the state Capitol.

Haney is a Democrat from Seminole and chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He would join businessman Vince Orza in seeking the Democratic nomination.

Congressman Steve Largent, governor's cabinet member Jerry Regier and motivational speaker Jim Denny are running as Republicans.

Tulsa attorney Gary Richardson is running as an independent.
