LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Tony Robbins said he's not switching careers to become an actor after his appearance in the Farrelly brothers' new movie, ``Shallow Hal.''

``I didn't want to act _ to act, per se,'' the self-help guru said. ``And they said, `You did a good job,' and I said, `Well, I have some insight into the motivation of the character.' I think if something came up that was a great message, yes, but that's not my direction in my life.''

Jack Black plays a shallow guy named Hal who's brainwashed by Robbins into seeing women for their inner beauty instead of their looks.

Hal falls in love with Rosemary, a 300-pound Peace Corps volunteer whom he sees as Gwyneth Paltrow, who co-stars in the film.

``I'm not looking for an acting career,'' Robbins said.
