LONDON (AP) _ Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, who once vowed never to work with Don King, says he's considering signing with the American promoter.

Lewis said in British newspaper reports Monday that he could sign a four-fight, 75-million-pound (dlrs 100 million) deal with King if he defeats Hasim Rahman in Saturday's title rematch in Las Vegas.

``I know I said I would never work him but time changes things and sometimes you have to accept that someone is good at what they do,'' Lewis told The Times. ``We'll see how things work out this time, then look at whether we'll do anything together in the future.''

``He does promote a good fight,'' he added. ``Boxers at this stage of their career need someone to promote them well. King's history speaks for itself.''

King currently promotes WBA champion Johnny Ruiz and former champion Evander Holyfield.

Lewis, 36, split with longtime promoter Panos Eliades last year and fired manager Frank Maloney last week.

Lewis lost the WBC and IBF titles when he was knocked out by Rahman last April in South Africa.

If Lewis regains the titles, he could be in line for a fight with former champion Mike Tyson. But Lewis said he is also interesting in fighting Canada's Kirk Johnson.
