TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Markius Barnes scored a game-high 24 points and Reggie Borges added 17 points as Oral Roberts beat Scott Carter's Heroes 86-71 in an exhibition game Saturday night.
Reggie Borges added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Golden Eagles, who took a 43-37 halftime lead.
Heroes cut the margin to 52-43 in the second half, partly on the strength of 14-of-21 free throws. But ORU went on a 10-1 run midway through the second half to put the game out of reach.
Former ORU standout Eric Perry had 17 points for Scott Carter's Heroes, who are made up of former college basketball players playing for children's cancer research. The team is named for Scott Carter, the 13-year-old son of ORU Athletic Director Mike Carter, who died in 1993 from bone cancer.
