Schools all over Green Country are honoring veterans this week with celebrations that feature color guards and performances by students.
Katie White of MacArthur Elementary in Tulsa was instrumental in organizing MacArthur's first annual Veteran's Day celebration. Pictured are some of the many veterans who attended the celebration. Veterans of several campaigns including Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm were honored. The Drill Team from Whitney Junior High performed precision drills, and there were several patriotic musical performances, including the Hale H.S. Choir's performance of "God Bless the USA".
The event was a great showing of patriotic spirit for the community, and marks the beginning of a proud tradition at MacArthur.
