The federal government is stepping up its investigation of nearly 2-million Jeep Grand Cherokees. KOTV first told you about the probe in a special 6-In Your Corner report.
Auto safety experts have received hundreds of complaints, including one from a local woman that the SUV can shift suddenly from park into reverse. Gloria Winn wasn't injured in the incident involving her 1999 Grand Cherokee, but five deaths have been reported.
Safety regulators say the investigation now involves all Grand Cherokees built in model years 1993 through 2002. Jeep denies there's a problem.
