(Undated-AP) -- Oklahoma sits atop the first BCS rankings of the season.
The Bowl Championship Series standings determine which teams play for a national championship at the Rose Bowl. The first rankings were released last night.
Nebraska is number two followed by UCLA and Miami.
Oklahoma has 3.06 points in the BCS standings including a one-point bonus deduction for its win over Texas. The Sooners are more than three points ahead of the Cornhuskers in the standings.
OU coach Bob Stoops says his team's tough schedule will keep them atop the BCS if they win out.
The BCS rankings are based on a formula that incorporates the AP poll plus the USA Today-ESPN coaches' poll, eight computer rankings, strength-of-schedule and number of losses.
