Plans are in the works to make Tulsa's River Parks more beautiful. The idea is to build a large fountain with rushing waterfalls and sculptures of bears at 71st and Riverside Drive.
Bank of Oklahoma donated most of the $450,000 needed to build the project. It will also feature a plaza where folks can sit on benches and enjoy the scenery. "I think a project like this exhibits the true public/private partnership that exists in the community and the ability of the private sector to step forward and say let's beautify the park system and make the city more attractive for new business to move in."
The proposal was presented to Tulsa's City Council Thursday. Councilors plan to study the idea in the next few weeks.
