Kids around Tulsa got a lesson in how to safely walk to school Tuesday. Kids toured the Fed-X vans; visit with McGruff the Crime Dog. Even the crash test dummies were there.
Mary Beth Ogle with Safe Kids Coalition, "We've added some signage and some crossing guards and some ham radios and things like that that have really improved the environment to make it safer for kids to walk to school." The Safe Kids Coalition says Tulsa has a long way to go to make the walk to school even safer. Plans to do that include adding more warning signs, curbs, and sidwalks.
And drivers still need to slow down in and around school zones.
