Maintenance workers at Sequoyah State Park near Hulbert found the body of a woman, authorities said.
The woman was discovered Tuesday at the Park in Cherokee County. Officials don't know the cause of death or the identity of the woman, thought to be an American Indian in her 40s or 50s, said Dave Page, an agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
The OSBI believes this victim is between 40 to 50 years of age, was about 5'1" to 5' 2" in height and weighed approximately 100 pounds. The victim also had long black hair and was possibly of Native American descent.
The woman had two tattoos on her upper right arm. The top tattoo is of a flower and the lower tattoo represents a snail. Anyone with information regarding the identification of this person is asked to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 918-456-2583 or the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at 800-522-8017.
