OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Gov. Frank Keating ordered all American flags on state property to fly at half-staff Tuesday in the wake of terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C.
``The events of this day are an affront to civilization, a day of agony and infamy in America,'' Keating said. ``Oklahomans know only too well the enduring effects of terrorism, and our hearts go out to all those impacted by these cowardly and brutal acts. I urge all Oklahomans to keep the victims of these terrorist assaults in their prayers and thoughts.''
Flags will remain at half-staff indefinitely, Keating said.
